    ************************************************************
    4th INTEX Workshop
    University of Bordeaux-3, June 11th and 12th juin, 2001
    FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS
    ************************************************************
INTEX is a linguistic development environment that allows users to
construct large-coverage linguistic resources, and to apply them to large
texts. These resources can be DELA-type dictionaries, libraries of
finite-state graphs and syntactic & semantic data bases in the form of
    lexicon-grammars.

One characteristic of the system is that it is open: users can add their
own linguistic resources and use elementary functionalities in their own
applications, either by importing standalone programs, or by using the API.
INTEX is used in more than 60 research centers as a linguistic tool, an
information retrieval system, to teach second languages, as a
terminological extractor, as well as to teach computational linguistics to
    graduate students.

This fourth workshop will offer the INTEX users the opportunity to meet and
share their experience in research, development and teaching. The latest
additions to the features of INTEX will be presented.

For the new INTEX users, or for researchers who use other linguistic
development environments, the workshop will be an opportunity to discover a
wide spectrum of projects that are based on the INTEX technology. Following
the presentations, two tutorial sessions (initiation, advanced) will give
participants an opportunity to play with the system.

By April 15th, 2001, submit a 1-page abstract to Claude Muller or Max
Silberztein, using e-mail preferably. The title of the abstract should
include: title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, e-mail
address for each author. Authors will be notified of acceptance by April
    15th.

Please let us now as soon as possible if you wish to attend the tutorial
    sessions.
