The School of Computing and Information Systems is
one of the largest computing departments in the UK.
It occupies world class facilities on the new St. Peter's
campus with a range of SUN, POWER PC and PC
clients attached to a large SUN server configuration.
A very broad range of courses from HNC to PhD are
on offer for 1,800 students registered in the UK and
abroad on School programmes.
The School has over 70 PhD full and part-time
students and active research programmes in:
Knowledge Engineering
(including Natural Language Engineering and
Adaptive Computing)
Information Systems
Software Engineering
Decision Support Systems
You should have a good computing background an be
able to support teaching in one or more of these
areas:
* Networks
* Software Engineering
* Architectures
* Simulation
* Graphics
Your first degree and ideally your higher degree would
be in computing and you should have a research or
consultancy background. Your duties would be to
work in teams to deliver top quality teaching, provide
some student management support and conduct
applied research within the research groups defined in
the School.
