Natural Language Engineer

Harlequin is looking for a natural language engineer to work on a
growing range of information management applications within its
Adaptive Systems Group.

Applicants should have a postgraduate research background in natural
language processing, with experience in the following:

- information extraction
- parsing
- corpus-based NLP

Further areas of interest include discourse processing, morphological
analysis and machine learning. Programming ability is also
important. Specifically, we're looking for people with solid C, C++
and Perl programming experience.

Harlequin is a world leader in information management, electronic
publishing and symbolic processing. We write in C, C++, Dylan, Lisp,
ML, PostScript, Perl, Prolog and whatever else it takes -- including
English.

Our NLP expertise has been applied in a wide range of fields,
including law enforcement, petrochemistry and aircraft safety. The
Adaptive Systems Group in Harlequin is fully involved in product
development, as well as engaged in related consulting activity. We are
looking for the right people to help us move this process forward. We
currently have adaptive systems teams in Edinburgh, Cambridge MA and
Menlo Park CA, and are looking to strengthen these teams and establish
new ones at other locations, including Seattle WA and our UK offices
in Cambridge and Manchester.
