    The Department of Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin invites
    applications for a specialist in computational linguistics at the rank of
    Assistant Professor on a tenure track. The position begins on August 18,
    2005 and is contingent on funding.

    Duties include (a) Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in
    computational linguistics and related topics; (b) Directing thesis and
    dissertation research; (c) Conducting original research and publication;
    (d) Co-directorship of the Department of Linguistics Computational
    Linguistics Laboratory. Requirements include: (a) The Ph.D., awarded no
    later than August 18, 2005; (b) Excellence or potential for excellence as
    a teacher, researcher and leader. Interested persons should send a letter
    of application, curriculum vitae, a list of courses they are prepared to
    teach, sample published or other written work, and three letters of
    recommendation to the address given.

    The deadline for receipt of all application materials is January 18, 2005.
