It appears that "semantic prosody" has been seriously misinterpreted as "semantics and prosody" in this posting.

Mike Nelson's online thesis (section 4.4) has a nice discussion of semantic prosodies (or perhaps a mixture of semantic prosody and semantic preference):

    Dear Irena,

I think you will find Christine Gunlogson's dissertation on her homepage http://www.ling.rochester.edu/faculty/christine.html interesting. You could also look at Mary Baltazani's homepage http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~marybalt/ for articles on semantics and prosody.

            Dear All,

I recently joined this list because I had come across a topic discussed in it via Google.com, namely one about semantic prosody. I was just wondering if it would be alright to ask any questions about it here on this list, or would someone please recommend another list which would be more appropriate. I am trying to write my MA paper on Semantic Prosody at the University of Latvia.

            Thank you,
