You will probably get some answers with online resources, but for a printed
source (oldie but goodie), try Helen S. Eaton's book from about 1940 or so
(the title is something like _Frequency list for 4 European languages_,
though that isn't exactly it), republished by Dover in the 1960s. Don't
worry too much about the age of the resource, since common words are not
going to show that much variation.
