    Afida,

The British National Corpus contains about 9.3m words of newspaper data
(of which 3m come from broadsheet national papers and the rest from
regional papers and tabloids). These categories of files may be found in
the headers of the BNC World Edition or examined in my downloable BNC
    Index (http://clix.to/davidlee00).
