    Dear list members

    1. strum <SVO> <SV>
    2. live <SV> <SVO>

The verbs in 1 and 2 can both be intransitive or transitive, however, in 1
the order of the verb patterns for 'strum', <SVO> <SV>, reflects that
'strum' most frequently is constructed as a transitive verb, while the order
of the patterns for 'live', <SV> <SVO>, indicates that 'live' typically is
an intransitive verb (but can take a cognate object).

Can anyone direct me to lists or dictionaries in which verb patterns have
been sorted according to frequency, i.e. a verb's most typical pattern is
listed before its less typical constructional patterns?

    Regards
