    Dear all,

we have problems installing the BNC World Edition December 2000 and SARA
version 0.98 on a DEC Alpha machine with UNIX V4.0F as well as on a Compaq
    Tru64 UNIX V5.1A
The compilation as such was unproblematic and no errors were encountered.
But after starting sarad the following error message occurs:

There were errors detected in startup tests. See testlog.txt.

    testlog.txt reads:
    ...
    Test 4: Test index signature
ERR: Index signature does not match (BNC2-111-183-92-4055, bad signature)
Test 5: Test that all index directories exist
Test 6: Test that the compressed file index exists
         There are 4055 texts
Test 7: Test that all texts exist
Test 8: Test that the dictionary exists
         Dictionary version stamp is 2819298249624968
         5637788103834861571 words in dictionary
Test 9: Test that the downloadable files exist
Test 10: Test that all accelerators exist
Test 11: Test that the bibliography exists
Test 12: Test that the bibliography index exists
         Bib index has -1426052438 texts
WARNING: File /www/db/BNC-world/Etc/pbib does not exist or is wrong size
Test 13: Test that the temporary directory is writable
Tests complete. 1 errors and 1 warnings.

Has anybody tried installing it on the same machine/version and not
encountered problems? Or does anyone know a solution??

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
