"I have got problems" is a bit vague, so is "Unix". On a system with X11
and with emacs, you can use the mule stuff to input whatever you like.
For browsers and friends, what's wrong with unicode? Under linux/KDE,
I believe you will find complete support for Greek incl. keymapping.
For emails, I tend to use emacs with the mew package: I often get
emails partly in Japanese, Russian, Sorbian, Polish, Czech and it displays
w.o. problems. Please be more specific about your problems, otherwise it's
    difficult to help.

    Cheers
