    Dear all,

    could anybody help a colleague of mine who is looking for the origin of the
    word 'hip hop'?

    his original message says;
    >is it an allusion to "hip" (fleshy part of
    >either side of the human body above the legs) or to "hip"(s)
    >(interested in the latest fashions in behaviour, music,
    >entertainment,etc) and "hop" (act of hopping, jumping"?

    Thanks for your help!
    Fanny
