    Dear All,

a common criticism of politicians in the UK is that they sacrifice substance
for style. Recent threads on this list have reminded me from time to time of
    that criticism.

Personally speaking, I do not really care if people avoid the snob plural
'corpora' and use 'corpuses' instead. I can certainly understand non-native
speakers being baffled by corpus -> corpora and am prepared consequently to be
tolerant of any mistakes made by such posters to the group.

Finally, while my preference in academic discussions is for well connected and
composed academic prose, if somebody presents an interesting idea in an
unorthodox manner I will do my best to focus on substance rather than style.

    Best,

    T
