    EPSRC Studentship Available in South Asian Computer Corpus Linguistics

    Applications are invited for a three year PhD studentship in the Department of
    Linguistics and Modern English Language, Lancaster University funded by the
    EPSRC. The studentship covers fees and a provides a cost of living stipend (see
    www.epsrc.ac.uk for more details).

    The student will research in an area which supports the EMILLE project (see
    www.emille.lancs.ac.uk). The precise research area is open to negotiation,
    though a focus on natural language processing is expected. EPSRC studentships
    are open to UK nationals only (though fees only awards are possible for
    EU-nationals).

    Preference will be given to candidates fluent in one or more of the following
    languages: Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi, Panjabi, Sinhalese or Tamil. An ability to
    program will be seen as an advantage.
