    Dear Corpus Linguists:

This morning I posted a message announcing the availability of
Online BLC KWIC Concordancer. A number of people responded
personally saying that their access was forbidden for some
reason or other. I quote some of the representative messages:

    1. Wed, 1 Mar 2000 07:14:07 -0500
Your website seems to be "forbidden"!

    2. Wed, 1 Mar 2000 09:32:30 -0300
I got an error message trying to connect to your page.

    3. Wed, 01 Mar 2000 10:52:24 +0000
I tried to access the website ..., only to be told that
access is forbidden. Have you set the file permissions
       correctly?

    4. Wed, 1 Mar 2000 12:15:29 +0100
It seems that the file you are looking for is forbidden.

    5. Wed, 01 Mar 2000 14:27:43 +0100
We got the message regarding your corpora. This morning we
had a look upon it -- and it seems to be very good. However,
this afternoon access was forbidden: "The page has exceeded
the traffic allowance and has been temporarily suspended."

If, as indicated in Message #5, the reason for not being able
to connect to my Website was that "the page has exceeded the
traffic allowance and has been temporarily suspended," I can't
do anything but to ask you to be patient. As to the setting of
file permissions, nothing seems to be wrong (since many other
people said they enjoyed using the online Concordancer).

Anders Forsberg asked if the corpora could be downloaded via
FTP. Sorry, the BLC is not available for downloading -- at
    least for now.

Anyway, I appreciate all of you who responded to my message
this morning. If you keep having the same problem, please
let me know, so that I can talk to the technical manager of
the server for possible improvement of the situation.

    Best regards,

    Yasumasa Someya <ysomeya@gol.com>
