You don't say what version of Word you're using; I'll assume Word97, although I
think it would be similar in Word6. Likewise, this works for Win95/98; no
claims for other versions. For Postscript (PDF requires that you purchase the
Adobe PDF generator, as someone else has responded), follow these steps:

In Windows, click on the Settings | Printer icon in the start bar. In the
"Printers" applet that comes up, double click on "Add Printer." In the "Add
Printer Wizard", choose "Local Printer". Then under "Manufacturers", choose
"Apple" (there may be other possibilities, but this works for me). Under
"Printers", choose "Apple LaserWriter Plus" (again, there may be better choices,
but this works). Then under "Available Ports", choose "FILE:". Then give it a
name, like "Postscript file". It's up to you whether this is your default
printer, and whether you print (to file) a test page.

If you want to set other details, such as page size, you can double click on the
newly created icon in the "Printers" applet.

To use the printer under Word, just choose File | Print, and set the printer
"Name" in the print dialog box to this new printer. It will ask you for a
filename to print the output to.

For other questions on this issue, I suggest checking out one of the Microsoft
newsgroups. There is a public domain newsserver "msnews.microsoft.com", and
about half a bazillion newsgroups (all about Microsoft products). People there
are happy to help, and chances are this question comes up often.
