Computer Learner Corpora
Tokyo, Japan, July 31, 1999

Call for Partipation

As many researchers in applied linguistics gather together
for the AILA'99 conference in Tokyo this summer, you are
invited to one-day summer workshop focusing especially on a
growing field of computer learner corpora. We are also very
happy to announce that two distinguished researchers in the
field of corpus linguistics, Professor Geoffrey Leech
(Lancaster University) and Dr Tony McEnery (Lancaster University)
will be invited to our workshop as plenary speakers.

We will also have a presentation of Longman Learner's Corpus,
a commercially available large database of learner English.
Presenter will be the editor of LDOCE, Della Summers (to be
confirmed).
