The roles are at levels from fresh PhD/exceptional graduate to
experienced researcher/engineer. We are looking for people with a
first-class academic background in computer science, electrical
engineering, computational linguistics, physics, mathematics or
similar quantitative science, a high degree of curiosity and the
ability to learn quickly - self-motivated people who like to
continuously improve and excel.
We are looking for:
Research scientists - with strong analytical and programming
skills. A higher degree or similar experience in any of the
following areas would be an advantage:
- digital signal processing or image processing
- speech recognition algorithms (particularly large vocabulary)
- natural language processing or computational linguistics
Software engineers - with excellent software engineering and
programming skills using C/C++. Experience in any of the following
areas would be an advantage:
- project leadership
- commercial software projects
- software embedding on dedicated hardware
- large robust software systems
- speech recognition or signal processing
- man-machine interaction
Successful candidates will join a high calibre team performing
research and work on practical implementations in the following
project areas:
Speech recognition: we require researchers to further develop our
compact speech recogniser and software engineers to integrate it
into advanced products.
Speech understanding: we require researchers to take leading roles
shaping a young project on interactive voice driven technology. We
also need software engineers for product integration of this
system.
Information retrieval: we require software engineers to work on
implementations of our information retrieval technology for
networked multimedia applications.
Product conceptualisation and prototyping: we require software
engineers with strong interest in user interface and product
design issues to develop simulations and prototypes of new product
concepts integrating our speech and language technologies.
