I am a student at Cardiff, university of Wales, UK currently
researching a dissertation on the socio-psychological implications of
e-mail and how these can be reflected through texts using textual
analysis models.

I will be using a Systemic-Functional-Grammar model as
described by Dr. Robin Fawcett of the Computational Linguistics unit
at Cardiff and also a multidimensional-multi-feature model developed
by Douglas Biber (1992) to apply to a database of
Business/Academic/Student recreational & Multicultural e-mails that I
have accumulated.

I would very much appreciate if anyone knows of any
more textual analysis models, tagging software and useful guidelines
I might be able to access to aid my study. In particular, I have
recently been investigating studies for secondary analysis that used
the CLAWS1 computer program suite. Does anyone know of this?!!

If anyone could provide me with addresses of any
discussion forums dedicated to investigating e-mail communication,
again, I would be extremely grateful.

Thankyou for your help and co-operation,

Regards,

Matthew Beard.
