Research Lectureships (2 Posts)
13,871 - 28,516 U.K. pounds

Following a good outcome in the 1996 U.K. University's
Research Assessment Exercise the School of Computing and
Information Systems wishes to widen and enhance the quality
of its research efforts, developing internationally-recognised
research programmes. Two new professorial posts have
already been created and additional posts are now available to
build upon and strengthen work in key research areas in the
School.

These posts are for emerging research staff with interests in
one or more of the following areas:

* Human Computer Interaction
(including Natural Language Engineering)
* Adaptive Systems
(including Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms)
* Electronic Commerce (including networks)
* Software Engineering
* Multimedia
(including Information Retrieval and Management)
* Modelling & Simulation

High quality published research output is the main criterion for
selection for these posts. A recent PhD in a relevant area is
essential.

There are over 70 research staff and students in the School, and
over 50 academic staff, housed in a new building of exceptional
architectural merit. More information about the School may be
