Dear sir/madam,

My name is Zuo Yan, currently a Ph. D. student in the ENglish Dept. of
Peking University, Beijing CHina. I'm planning to do my Ph.D. thesis on the
comparative study of the intonatin of Chinese and ENglish spoken lanugage,
preferably conversation. And I'm considering of analysing the actual
recordings with CSL. THerefore, it's essential that I have access to some
spoken corpora(both the transcriptions and the recordings), but as you can
well imagine, it's very hard for me to do some actual first-hand data
collecting (I mean the ENglish part of the data) here inChina. A colleague
emailed me informing me about the ICAME spoken corpora archive. He also
mentioned that the recordings and digitalized wavefroms are now available on
CD-ROM. So I wonder how should I purchase it, and since I guess it would be
quite pricey (I'm now still a student in rather poor financial
conditions),I'd also like to know whether there is any SLIGHTEST
possilibilty for me to get a free copy, or maybe just a DEMO so that I may
go ahead with my research.
Thank you very much for your kind assistance in advance and apologies for
any incoveniences thus brought to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
