Please, please don't everyone respond wondering why they got this
message from Mr Cristianini, thus compounding the original problem. The
way these lists are sent up sometimes, when a responder replies the
reply goes to the entire list. That is how Mr Cristianini's request
ended up going to everyone. The best way to handle such things is to
ignore the whole thing. (I am breaking the rule because of the fear
that I'll soon receive mail from hundreds of people saying "I was
wondering that myself.") In particular, if you wish to respond this
message of mine, reply to me, rather than to the list scie1997.
