I realize that this is a frequently asked question, but I thought I'd ask
it anyway just in case there is a new product out there.
I am involved in a small (two-person) project trying to map argument
structure to (discourse-influenced) word order in Russian. We have more
than enough corpora (including the Uppsala one). We're looking for a
concordancer that will do the following tricks:
1. Search a (largely) untagged corpus for strings.
2. Display the hits in KWIC (keyword-in-context) format.
If possible, we'd also like to search for collocations (words near each other).
We have some limited funds to devote tho this, so commercial engines will
be considered in addition to freeware.
I am aware of Conc and M(a?)cConcordancer, one of which is made by the
Summer Institute of Linguistics. I do not have either one with me, however.
Please reply to me (billings@rz.uni-leipzig.de); I'll post a summary.
Thanks in advance, --Loren Billings
