Research Stipends for Graduate Fellowships available

Applications are invited for three-year graduate fellowships at the

Graduiertenkolleg
of the University of Stuttgart, Germany

starting January 1997.

The Graduiertenkolleg, founded in 1990, specialises in:

Theoretical Computational Linguistics (Prof. Mats Rooth)
Experimental Phonetics, Speech Sciences (Prof. Grzegorz Dogil)
Philosophy, Formal Logic (Prof. Hans Kamp)
Computer Science, Intelligent Systems (Prof. Egbert Lehmann)
Syntactic Theory, Comparative Syntax (Prof. Ian Roberts)
Computational Linguistics (Prof. Christian Rohrer)

Applicants should have completed their undergraduate training and be
able to present evidence of adequate knowledge in at least one of the
above mentioned main research areas of the program. Applications should
contain a short research proposal, a curriculum vitae, samples of
previous work (including the MA/diploma-thesis), course and grade lists,
a copy of the diploma, a letter of evaluation, and, where applicable,
evidence of an adequate command of the English and German language.

Financial aid: Candidates who are admitted are offered a research
stipend of DM 1600 (plus a supplement of DM 300 for married grant
holders and DM 200 for each child and additionally a certain amount of
travel expenses) for at most three years.
