Some time ago I submitted the following question to
the Corpora list:

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Do you know of any electronic sources (corpora,
commercial/public databases, collections compiled by
institutions, organisations or private persons (subject
indexes, word lists etc.)) which provide a terminological
documentation of the most frequently used eco- and enviro-
words in English (AE and BE)?
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I got very few but valuable responses so far. If anyone else
can think of further electronic resources related to this
field, I would be grateful if they could let me know.
People who responded so far are:

Helmut Feldweg <feldweg@sfs.nphil.uni-tuebingen.de>:

spezielle oekologische Terminologiedatenbanken in anderen
Schauen Sie doch mal rein:

Daniel Ridings <ridings@svenska.gu.se>:

I'm not so sure that this will help very much, but I am in
the process of putting some parallel texts on the net. So
far I've concentrated on aligning Swedish with other
languages, but I could very well consider aligning
German-English, German-French or what have you. Since some
of the documents come from the EU you might find some useful
references to ecological terms.

Adam Kilgarriff <Adam.Kilgarriff@itri.brighton.ac.uk>:

The British National Corpus contains substantial subcorpora
of eco stuff. There are 400,000 words of 'Envorinomental
Digest', and about 250,000 further stuff with either
'Environemnt' or "ecology' in the short title.
If you don't have pointers to BNC follow them from my web
page (see below) http://www.itri.bton.ac.uk/~Adam.Kilgarriff

Thank you very much. I hope that some more information will
eventually crop up.

Best
Susanne Lenz
