LECTURER and ASSISTANT LECTURER in COMPUTER SYSTEMS

The Department of Computer Science & Information Systems is one of three
departments comprising the College of Informatics & Electronics. It has a
student enrolement of 500 and offers a B.Sc. in Computer Systems and a Graduate
Diploma in Computing. Further programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate
levels are planned.

Research within the Department covers a number of areas including Combinatorial
Optimisation, Communications Network Management, Computer Supported Cooperative
Work, Computer Assisted Language Learning, Decompilation, Language Engineering,
Multimedia, Music Cognition and Sound Synthesis, Neural Networks, Reverse and
Re-Engineering, Software Development Methods and Software Engineering.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons wishing to work in a
dynamic and challenging environment. A doctorate is normally required, although
someone with a relevant Master's degree may be considered for the more junior
post. The successful candidates will be expected either to contribute fully to
ongoing work in one or more of the above areas, or to develop a new research
group.

Appointments will be made at a level which reflects a candidate's experience
and qualifications.

Salary Scales: Lecturer IRP22,324 - IRP36,639 p.a.
Assistant Lecturer IRP17,084 - IRP21,370 p.a.
