Dear Colleagues,

The Computerized Lexicographical–Terminological Centre (CLTDC) Foreign
Language Centre, Kossuth Lajos University, Debrecen, Hungary has the
pleasure of inviting you to participate in a Course in Computational
Lexicography:
"From Corpus to Dictionary" to be held from 27th November to 2nd December,
1995 in Debrecen, Hungary.
The lecturers / tutors are famous experts in the field who work at leading
institutions of the art (COBUILD Ltd; OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS; Rank Xerox
Research Centre).
To the best of our and our experts’ knowledge there has never been held a
course in COMPUTERIZED DICTIONARY-MAKING so we really count on a lot of our
colleagues’ decision to participate.
A tentative (but almost final) program and a registration form are included.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The COURSE in COMPUTATIONAL LEXICOGRAPHY tries to cover a wide range of
topics and both the theoretical and practical aspects of the field so it is
addressed to dictionary-makers, terminologists, computational linguists,
corpus builders, linguistic software developers, electronic publishers and
linguists in general – to anyone who is interested in language engineering
and linguistics.

LOCATION

Debrecen is the second largest town in Hungary – about 230
kilometres from the capital, Budapest in the Great Plain of Hungary, near
the "Hortobagy" Puszta.
Kossuth Lajos University was established in the twenties of this
century.
CLTDC is being established by a World Bank supported project. Its
main aim is to create bi-lingual computerized dictionaries in different
fields of science.
Lectures / workshop are planned to take place in the Mathematics
Building of the University.
