A while ago I received a mail asking for an appropriate translation
of the term "corpus linguistics" with your address as one of
the return addresses. Here are some complementary informations,
from a colleague of mine:

I haven't encountered often the term "corpus linguistics", most of the
time "corpora-based linguistics" is what appears in the litterature.

In my humble opinion:

- either "corpus linguistics" is improperly used where
"corpora-based linguistics" would be the right formulation,
for refering to linguistics using corpora as information source
in the task of building linguistic models, in which case a
good translation could be "linguistique \`a base de corpus"

- either "corpus linguistics" means linguistics whose aim is the analysis
of corpora; in that case a more appropriate translation could be
"linguistique pour l'analyse des corpus". But "linguistique de corpus"
doesn't seems to be so good, "linguistique appliqu\'ee aux corpus" is sli
ghtly
better but still a bit vague.

Hope this help.

Yours,

Patrick.
