The Natural Language Processing project at Institut of Informatics
has two applied research positions in quantitative NLP. Both positions
are to work on a two-year EC telematics applications project which
will start in January 1996.
Positions:
one Post-doctoral Resercher, and
one Research Assistant
Description:
Work on a development of statistical lexical acquisition methods for
an automatically domain tunned lexicon and on text filtering components
for a personal information extraction system. The project is an applied
research project.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have a M.S. or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in computer
science or computational linguistics. Good programming skills and experience
in Prolog, C and C++ as well as basic knowledge of statistical methods for
language and text analysis are required. Knowledge of English is required,
French and German are helpful. Applicants should be able to work in an
independent way but also to collaborate with an international team.
