I'm very interested in the discussion on FA because it touches on something
I'm contemplating, which is FA of word knowledge by non-native users of
English. I'm a novice in this area, but it strikes me that using exploratory
FA is going to run into all of the problems that have been raised, but that
confirmatory FA -- Path Analysis or Structural Equation Modelling -- might go
some way to addressing the problems. Is this a valid point?
