I think that Jeff Adams's comparison with Perl is relevant.
What I like about Perl and also about Tcl (which has somewhat
similar features) is the ease to handle regular expressions
and the possibility to use associative arrays, that is,
arrays (actually implemented as hash tables) that are indexed
on, say, words.
Both are some of the important features that are needed in
text processing, so I guess, my question is, how does
Icon compare to both Perl and Tcl?
