First AGFL Workshop on Syntactic Description
and Processing of Natural Language

October 2, 3 and 4, 1995
Nijmegen, The Netherlands

On October 2, 3 and 4, the first AGFL workshop on syntactic
description and processing of natural language will take place
at the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

The workshop is directed at computer linguists and corpus linguists
who are actively involved in the development and use of grammars
for natural languages.

The workshop will be devoted to the AGFL (Affix Grammars over a
Finite Lattice) formalism and its role in natural language processing.
Since this will be the first workshop about AGFL, special attention
will be paid to the formalism and the grammars developed sofar.
Another aspect will be the role of AGFL in NLP applications,
information retrieval systems and corpus linguistics (tagging).

During the three day workshop, presentations will be alternated
with exercises and demos. The workshop will finish with a discussion
on the formalism itself and the possibility of new features in future
implementations.
