Treebank (1991) Tools

We have the ACL/DCI version of the Penn Treebank (1991) installed
here at SMU.

I'm wondering if there are any public domain tools available for
matching patterns in the parsed corpora of this version of the
Treebank. Unfortunately we are unable to obtain the money necessary to
get Treebank 2 which includes tgrep which is the sort of thing we are
looking for.

If you are aware of any tools available for the part of speech or
parse tree corpus of the preliminary version of Treebank I'd be
interested. We are just starting to work with this corpus and have not
developed anything on our own yet and would prefer to avoid that if we
can.

Thanks,
Ted
